Tire: Insignia SE200
Category: Passenger All-Season
UTQG (treadwear): 560 A B
The Bridgestone Insignia SE200 is a very mediocre offering in the passenger all-season performance segment. Very much designed to be used on medium sedans, it's a volume seller and oftentimes found on rental cars, it doesn't have a great reputation. Looking at the tread pattern belies what Bridgestone was going after on this tire...very bland.
If you couldn't tell, we are not high on this tire, and those thoughts and feelings come from drivers who've run this tire on their personal cars. Aside from the very poor traction qualities, including it's snow traction (which is virtually non-existent), there are issues with road noise as the tires age. Back to the traction though, if you wouldn't know any better, you'd think this was a summer tire with how it performs in light snow. So if you get any amount of the white stuff on the road (or much rain for that matter), I can't even recommend you look at this tire. Maybe they would be good if you lived in the desert. Two plus sides here, one being their low cost, and the other being that these tires will give you about 80,000 miles before needing to be replaced. Just try to avoid all snow and rain during that time!
