Tire: Enasave 01 A/S
Category: Passenger All-Season
UTQG (treadwear): 340 A A / 340 A B
Quite the creative name here for a tire, Enasave, it's bit of a conglomeration between energy and save. Bottom line of what Dunlop is trying to say here is that the Enasave 01 A/S is a low rolling resistance tire designed to increase your vehicle's fuel economy. This tire is pretty unique other than the name, in fact was developed exclusively as the original equipment (OE) tire for the Mitsubishi i MiEV (Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle). This city car is an electric only vehicle and Mitsubishi wanted a tire that would combine low rolling resistance, low road noise, and year-round four season traction. The unique low rolling resistance tread compound used with the Enasave 01 A/S was molded into a symmetric design to help reduce energy loss. This tire is fairly low volume, and we really don't find too many people running this tire in the real world. Considering the technology that Dunlop uses in this passenger all season tire segment, I'm going to hazard that this tires will merely be just okay. I think there are definitely more compelling options on the market today. Also considering the treadwear rating, it's also a little hard to determine how many miles you'll get out of a set. I'll be updating this review when I can find out more information on traction performance and longevity.
