Tire: B380 RFT
Category: Passenger All-Season
UTQG (treadwear): 240 B B
The Bridgestone B380 RFT is a pretty unique tire that slots into the passenger all season lineup, but has been traditionally destined for one specific vehicle on the market: the Toyota Sienna minivan. This tire was developed for the exclusive use on the Sienna, but could be fitted to other vehicles that utilize the same sized tires. These tires have a pretty standard tread design and compound that provides decent enough traction across all four seasons. This being a run flat tire, it's internal structure is built to withstand a pressure loss and can travel 50 miles at 50 mph if you get a flat.
On average, drivers typically see about 50,000 miles out of a set of these tires. I think that is pretty good actually, considering the weight of the Sienna and the typical demands that are placed on minivans in terms of hauling and family duty. Overall traction performance is fair to average. This is a people mover tire, and it does a good job at handling that duty. However, emergency situations and moderate snow definitely tests the limits. Good thing most people aren't buying minivans for their handling! One of the knocks against this tire is the price. I've had so many people over the years complain about the replacement cost of these tires. So keep that in mind when you are shopping for replacement tires. These will be expensive, but they are built for a very specific service.
