The Bridgestone Turanza EL400 RFT is a very specialized tire that has been developed to provide a run flat tire specifically for the Toyota Sienna minivan. This original equipment tire is a very close cousin to the Bridgestone Turanza EL400, but definitely has characteristics that make it a distinctly different tire in a lot of ways. Being a run flat tire, this allows the EL400 RFT to be driven for 50 miles at a speed of around 50 mph. The ability to do this is in part from the highly engineered spirally wrapped twin steel belts that are a part of the tire structure.
Most drivers have found the Bridgestone EL400 RFT to have similar ride comfort and traction to the standard version, however with more road noise. This is a common complaint of all run flat tires and it is usually due to the enhanced internals of the tire. Even though these tires were designed specifically for the Toyota Sienna minivan, I know many people that have put these on their vehicles. Most drivers have found them to provide adequate traction in most situations, nothing earth-shattering here. You'll likely see about 60,000 miles out of a set, which seems pretty standard for the run flat segment. Overall a decent selection if you are looking for a more comfortable ride and a tire with run flat ability.
