This is probably one of the more versatile tires on the market. It's made by General Tire to be fitted to a wide variety of wheel sizes, from 13" up to 18". The AltiMAX RT43 has been developed to provide a long tread life and provide good traction in all four seasons. So even light to moderate snow shouldn't be an issue, assuming you still have some good tread left. This tire utilizes a cool feature called Anti-Slip Sipe Design Technology, which increases the number of biting edges to enhance traction on slippery roads. General Tire also outfitted the RT43 with Low Surface Abrasion Technology which keeps the tire more rigid under stressing circumstances (cornering, braking, etc.) and this feature helps even out treadwear over time and extend the life of the tire.
I think overall this would be a good tire for family-hauler type vehicles, such as sedans, minivans and wagons. It's not made to be driven on the autobahn, but it'll take wear and tear like a champ. If you can find a good deal on these, they'll save you some money over other more heavily advertised tires from the big tire companies. I've had a lot of drivers report that you can get over 80,000 miles out of a set under ideal conditions, which makes these tires perfect for the vehicle that you plan to keep for a long period of time. Keep in mind that in this case, traction ability has been sacrificed for the sake of having a longer life tire. So for the right price, it would be hard for me to pass these up. Depending on the speed rating, these tires come with either a 75,000 mile warranty on the T-rated, or a 60,000 mile warranty on the H-rated from General Tire. So you can tell that the manufacturer stands behind their product.
