Tire: Turanza ER33
Category: Grand Touring Summer
UTQG (treadwear): 140 A A
What we have here is a fairly versatile tire for sports cars and coupes. The ER33 is often used as original equipment (OE) for Toyota, Infiniti, and Lexus. It's really nothing special, but will get the job done while combining good enough traction, low noise and a good ride quality. In the performance category, this tire is ranked just outside the top 5, so if you can find a good price on it, then it's definitely worth looking at. Just like all other summer type tires, the ER33 is not meant to be driven in ice/snow, or at near freezing temperatures.
This tire utilizes some cool technology that allows it to evacuate water from the tread during wet conditions, so it'll be working hard for you to reduce hydroplaning. You can find it in a variety of sizes, but mostly for 18" wheels. What's great to me about this tire is that you can often find a pretty good deal on a set of 4, and you'll likely be able to get over 40,000 miles out of set with proper tire rotations. Some drivers have reported a slight increase in road noise versus similar tires, but I most do not. So overall, a decent tire for the money, but you may want to shop around if you are looking for something longer lasting or just better overall.
