The Yokohama Geolandar I/T G072 is winter tire produced for drivers of trucks and SUVs who want to make sure they can get through harsh snow and ice that often comes with winter weather. Part of the reason why this tire works as well as it does in these cold and wet conditions is because of the technology employed by Yokohama including the use of microscopic Resin-Coated Shelled Microbubbles and a Highly Absorbent Carbon Compound. These two engineering pieces combined are unique to Yokohama in their winter lineup. Knowing that drivers also want a little bit of road comfort, they also reinforced the Geolandar I/T G072 with twin steel belts atop a polyester cord. These tires do meet the industry standard for severe snow service and it is recommended that you only install these tires in sets of four.

Drivers that run this tire generally come away with positive comments overall and are impressed with the tire's ability to stick to the road in harsh conditions. Anything from heavy wet snow, to high winds with ice, and even black ice on the roads...I've had drivers tell me some crazy stories about what they've been through with these tires. In addition to the excellent winter traction provided by the Geolandar I/T G072, it's been a theme of people that I talk to about these tires that they wear well and are not entirely loud, which is a common complaint of winter tires. Expect to get about 50,000 miles out of a set, which is a touch higher than many other winter tires on the market.  I did hear a rumor that these tires might be getting replaced in the lineup, so if you're wanting a set, you might have to move on them soon.
