The Yokohama Geolandar H/T G056 is a rugged, on-road (only) all season tire built for drivers of trucks, SUVs and vans. This tire was built to provide a long treadlife, along with a smooth ride through all four seasons. This tire in particular utilizes Yokohama's own advanced all-season compound that combines Mirco Silica with Orange Oil Technology that helps the tire maintain traction in wet conditions and helps it remain flexible on colder temperatures. The adaptive shoulder blocks are there to help create an even wear surface and reduce road noise. This tire is pretty versatile and is available in three piles in Load Range E sizes.
This is one of the newer tires in the Geolandar lineup from Yokohama, and doesn't have quite as long of a track record as we would like. However the early results are pretty solid. Drivers have felt the G056 provides stable traction and we've even had a few drivers tow their boats using this tire. All seems pretty pretty normal. Road noise is lower than other tires in this performance category, and wet traction is above average. Deep snow traction might be the lacking part of this tire, but I think that makes sense considering it's an on-road truck tire...it can't perform perfectly in all situations. We don't have mileage estimates for this tire yet, but a few drivers have noted that the wear seems consistent with other quality highway all-season tires. We'll update this review as we get more information.
