Tire: P4 Four Seasons
Category: Standard Touring All-Season
UTQG (treadwear): 760 A B / 750 A B
This Pirelli P4 Four Seasons tire is a pretty standard offering in the world of tires. It is ranked close to the top for the performance category, maybe in the middle part of the top 10. So it does a good, not great job on providing four season traction. It'll work well enough in light snow, although just like most all season tires, it can get over matched easily. It is a well engineered tire though, for sure. Utilizing a silica-rich treat to help reduce rolling resistance and giving you better fuel economy. It has very wide shoulder blocks and if you look at a picture, you'll notice a large two-channel center groove...all for improving wet traction.
Drivers are generally very positive about this tire. As I mentioned, it's towards the top for the performance category and is engineered very well. As such, this tire has been known to go 100,000 miles before needing to be replaced, and that's even in places that have all four seasons with cold temperatures and road salt doing their part. Most find the tires to be pretty quiet on the road and have good traction. Standard touring tires are not known to help your burn up the autobahn, that's for sure, but they will give you good quality traction under reasonable driving. Overall this is a great tire for the money if you're looking for long life and a good, smooth quality ride.
