The SP Winter Sport 4D DSST RunOnFlat is more than just another version of the regular SP Winter Sport 4D from Dunlop. These tires were specifically designed to provide sports cars and coupes with great winter traction on low profile wheels. Dunlop started producing these tires in a limited number of sizes to meet the growing demand from this market. You'll find that the 4D DSST RunOnFlat performs well compared to non run flat tires and that it utilizes the same JointLessBand technology to help the tire maintain shape at higher speeds. Due to their specialized nature and traction properties, Dunlop recommends that you only install these tires in sets of four and that you shouldn't mix these tires with any other style or type. Thy have been designed to be driven 50 miles in the event of a puncture. Also being a winter tire means you'll have to take these off in the summer if you're in a place where the temperatures get too warm. Some performance winter tires can still be used during the warmer months, but Dunlop says that's not a good idea for these in particular. Due to how new these are, I haven't heard any first hand accounts yet of their performance (I'm betting it's solid) and I will update this review as I learn more about this tire over time.
