General Tire Grabber AT 2

Brand: General Tire
Tire: Grabber AT 2
Category: On-/Off-Road All-Terrain
UTQG (treadwear): 640 A B

On the opposite side of the General Tire spectrum from the General Tire AmeriTrac TR, in the on/off road performance category, we find the Grabber AT 2. I'll say straight away that this is one of my favorite truck/SUV tires on the market right now for a few reasons 1) It comes in at a competitive price 2) It is available in a wide range of sizes, and 3) You'll get good traction combined with a long lifespan.

First thing you'll notice about the Grabber AT 2 is the aggressive tread pattern. This a molded design with traction angles and edges to increase both on, and off-road traction. It even has sipes, which are designed to accept metal studs for winter weather driving. These tires are built for heavy action and made to handle severe loads and bad weather.

You'll likely find that this tire will get fewer miles than the AmeriTrac TR that I mentioned above, you'll appreciate the much improved traction and handling characteristics. You'll still likely see over 80,000 miles out of a set and I've had drivers tell me that they have seen up to 100,000 miles under more ideal conditions. This is a top 5 tire for me in the On-/Off-Road All-Terrain performance category for trucks and SUVs. I think you'll find it money well spent over other competing tires.
